About This File

After Adam Amundson and many Daniel recolors, Nick Hooper became the new Daniel Pulgar clone, this time of the modern Daniel.  He was originally created in 2012, as a pretty eh character, and then came to be in this highly acclaimed piece!  DarkDonald1 originally wasn't planning to release him, but he eventually did after people begged him.

First, a clearing of certain misconceptions.

Nick is in no way a Daniel clone. Daniel clones are defined as sprite edits of the original Daniel character. Nick is made completely from scratch using original vector sprites. While the author has relations with Daniel9x7 and his character has special interactions with and mimicked poses from the new Daniel, he is in no way a clone.

His gameplay is actually based off of Melty Blood, having spammable normals, high aerial comboability, and low damage output. Gameplay was not DarkDonald's focus, and it shows. He lacks Hypers and only posesses two specials, only one of which has good combo potential. Despite these hinderances, he flows magnificently, and his spritework and animation is phenomenal. It was a shame this character was essentially pressured out of him. It was clear he didn't intend to release this character, and the character notes show he was annoyed by the constant bugging about it.

All in all, it's an unfinished project that showed great promise.

This character is the first (and perhaps only) clone of the New Daniel. His sprites are amazing and he has an MvC game style. The downside here is that he is extremely weak. He has only 2 special moves, one where you are unprotected for a few seconds to damage the opponent and another that is a Genocide cutter. He has no hypers or projectiles, which makes him not entirely suitable for general combat. This character, if he's not a W.I.P, then he's a slight disappointment.

Response from the author:

It is too bad he is in this condition.  On the other hand, we have Nick Shiki, who a more insane version of Nick.  I could upload him here and we can compare.
