Smoke Choked

Very fun to play as, but annoying as hell to fight and watch.

Gameplay-wise, despite being based on Mario Teaches Typing, he plays more like Mario in the standard platformers. That being the jumping being his main form of attacking, as well as the Super Jump Punch from Smash Bros. In addition, through the use of RNG, you also got some assists that can harm the opponent or himself...and that includes the OHKO Big Bertha. Again, very fun, but of heavy risk and reward. You don't want to get hurt by your own assists, especially since he cannot block.

What's annoying about him, though, is how he is damaged. He takes damage like a normal fighter, but whenever he is damaged, the game pauses for him to have a little death animation. This means that, if the opponent is barely doing any damage to him...which is very common if he is facing himself...a round can drag on for longer than it should, and you'll probably have that Mario death sound stuck in your head by the end of it.

Sniping's a good job, mate.

You catch the opponent, they die instantly. You fail to catch them, you die instantly. Either way, someone dies quickly, so it isn't unreasonable or cheap.

Well, this is the weirdest game I have ever played. I do like the art style, the various Easter eggs, and the soundtrack choices. However, the game felt way too linear for it to feel enjoyable. It was boring, but strange enough for me to keep going.

I cannot believe it.  It's been almost a decade and a half since Rare Akuma's last update in 2008, and he's been finalized in 2022!  Imagine that!

Needless to say, Rare Akuma remains a god amongst M.U.G.E.N. characters.  There is a reason why he remains in 1st Division on SpriteClub, with 884 matches on record, and a win-loss ratio of 35 to 26.  This guy may have been surpassed by many degrees of cheap characters and cheapies, but he still holds his title as a god amongst them all.

I would not rate most cheap M.U.G.E.N. characters five stars if they were cheap and nothing more.  That would just be boring and undeserved.  Rare Akuma, along with Omega Tom Hanks, is insanely cheap while being fricking hilarious!  One minute, he's spawning in through smoking weed, fusing Ryu and Ken together, or falling from the sky.  The next minute, he's raining skull hadoukens from his palms, teleporting with his shoryukens and tatsumaki senpukyakus, or rapidly charging power.  The minute after that, he's spawning an army of miniature clones of himself, bringing down the moon or the Death Star like DIO, trapping enemies with the Giant Katamari Ball of Random Characters, or OHKOing fools with a Shun Goku Satsu with funky music.  After all of that, he's either sent opponents to the Statue of Akuma or having some narrator recite insightful words.  Truly a sight to behold when he came out AND to this day!

If you want any crazily cheap fights in your M.U.G.E.N. game, Rare Akuma is a must have!  More of a must have than the Uncommon Akuma, at least.

Okay, but why though

This guy...this guy is fuckin weird.  He's got some neat teleportation and an attitude, but most of his animations are pretty rough and his power charge needlessly shakes the ground.  All around, decent character, but I really want to know what the author of this character was thinking when he or she or they made this.

This character gets a special award for being used for a marriage proposal, and a successful one at that.

One of the only YouTubers to actually get the novelty of M.U.G.E.N.  I think I'll let Joe himself do the talking

This was one of the earliest M.U.G.E.N. characters I found, and it is what introduced me to Toei's Spider-Man.  This character isn't amazing, but it is definitely the most unique version of Spider-Man out there.  Whether it be the voice clips from the show, his singing hyper, or the fact that he is one of many Nico Nico Douga cameos for YU-TOHARU's Miku, this is a very memorable Spidey!  Check him out!

If this character wins, you can't continue the battle.  His victory animation goes on literally forever and it is unskippable.  The only way to continue is to quit the match or game entirely.

While I can't figure out how all of the moves work, and the display name is spelled wrong, this is an absolute improvement over her base version!  I eat up that Extra Thicc Android 21!

These games, my god, these games.  These games were a notable part of my childhood.  From the slippery gameplay, to the simple combat system, to the many, many weapons in both games, these have aged very well!  When it comes to Flash fighting games, these are my absolute recommended games!

Although she is very cheap, she is easily one of my favorite characters in M.U.G.E.N., purely for being a pretty cleanly ripped version of Popuko.  I HELLA LOVE POP TEAM EPIC!  *faints from fangasm*

Not only are the banner and music perfect for the character, but he's got quite the life of the party, both with the bros and with the gals he probably wants to fuck.  I wonder if Bestest Ken is still married to Elisa, after what he's done?

Out of all of the characters on the roster, BBQ Pit Boy disappointed me the most.  Firstly, since he is based on a Joey Faust creation, his animations are very stiff, and of course he's gonna be cheap.  Unlike with other Joey Faust edits, though, his attacks are so damn powerful that he can take most of your health with little effort.  Not to mention, his Vinetrigger is easy for him to activate, due to his strong attacks, and this Vinetrigger gives him regeneration.  With all this in mind, even when fighting him on the game's default difficulty, I'm surprised he's only ranked 4th Division on SpriteClub.  He could definitely be an absolute breeze to play (I have yet to test this), but he is an utter PAIN to fight.

This guy is hilarious, but his controls are very stiff, at least when it comes to his attacks.  In terms of fighting him or fighting as him, I have this to say...

This guy is fucking hilarious!  He does nothing but hurt himself for his attacks!

This character is ubercheap, and has four glaring flaws that make this not worth the download:

1. The Shun Goku Satsu is so easy to use, it ruins the whole fight, since it OHKOs before the move even begins.

2. Her health is ungodly, for even untrue OHKO moves cannot wipe it out.  They only do, like, a tenth of her health.

3. The more up-to-date version is NSFW, for some reason.  WHY?!

4. This character contains plenty of stolen code from other characters.

I hope someone can defeat this monstrosity.
