It accumulated a total of 48 chapters, published on Weekly Shōnen Jump on October 4, 1988 to September 26, 1989. Which started on Chapter 195 and concluded on Chapter 243. It is the first arc in the Dragon Ball Z series, but is the ninth overall arc in the manga. In the anime, it is referred to as the Attack of the Saiyan! (来らい 襲しゅう!サイヤ人じん, Raishū Saiya-jin; Literally meaning "Saiyan Invasion")that first aired on April 26, 1989 to February 20, 1990 spanning from episodes 1 to episode 35, as well as episodes 1 to 17 of the Dragon Ball Kai anime.
