When the explosion went off, she was floating in the James River, so she was merged with it into the fluid Aquamaria. She can assume a humanoid form, but spends most of her time in the James River - she can't leave for long, as she would lose her body to evaporation. She observed the Blood Syndicate for some time before joining them to help out when needed.
